On the site of the MacDonalds Restaurant once stood one of the Vickers gun workshops.
On the Crayford High Street side of the brick built workshop there were a row of large arched windows. Using these windows as inspiration pupils from St Paulinus CE Primary School; St Josephs RC Primary School, Crayford Temple Grove Primary School designed templates depicting scenes from Crayford’s history.
Members of the Dartford Quilting group used the children’s templates to make a patch-worked quilt that will celebrate Crayford’s industrial heritage.

Hello,
Thank you for your email. They were given to Haberdashers School in Crayford. It was a new school and they asked to display it there.
What ever happened to the quilts made in 2009 as part of the magnificent Town and Its Flying Machines Project? they were supposed to be going to be hung up in Crayford Library?
