Crayford the Opera

Children from St Paulinus; St Josephs and Crayford Temple Grove primary schools, learnt about Crayford and it links with the early history of flight. In June 2010 their task was to find out as much as they could about how one a Crayford factory owner, Sir Hiram Maxim and aviators Captain John Alcock and Arthur Whitten Brown made history and use their findings to write songs about a Magnificent Town and Its Flying Machines.

Year 6 children from St Josephs School performed their opera at the end of project celebrations at Hall Place on the 8th July. The opera was composed by Russell Hepplewhite, directed by Helen Eastman with help from music teacher Penni Cliburn
